"YMK Farms" is an integrated farm comprised of cattle farming, fish farming and cultivation of various crops & vegetables. The journey of YMK Farms started in 2015 when the founders Mr. Morshed Ahmed Khan and his wife Ms. Yesmeen Jahanara thought that they should contribute towards agricultural development of their motherland - Bangladesh. The inspiration to develop the farm came from Mr. Khan's grandfather - Late Mozaffar Ali Khan, who used to do farming in traditional manner in his village. During 1982-1985 Mr. Khan used to live in his village Lengutia, P.S. Mehendigonj, Barisal and used to study in his village school - Lengutia High School and completed his S.S.C in 1985 with science. During his stay in his village, as part his academic curriculum Mr. Khan studied Agricultural Science and became very interested in agriculture. He used to utilise his leisure times in gardening, cattle rearing, fishing and overseeing his family farming. After completing his S.S.C. Mr. Khan left his village and came to Dhaka. In 1987 Mr. Khan completed his H.S.C. with science from Dhaka City College. In 1988 he got admitted in the University of Rajshahi in Law Department and his childhood interest in agriculture remained unfulfilled. After completing LL.B. (Hons) (exam of 1992 held in 1994) and LL.M. (exam of 1993 held in 1996) from the University of Rajshahi and after completing the pupillage in 1996, Mr. Khan got enrolled with Bangladesh Bar Council in 1997 and started his journey in legal profession as an Advocate, at first as an Advocate of Dhaka Bar Association and then as an Advocate of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and his childhood interest in agriculture remained unfulfilled. In 2006 Mr. Khan went to the United Kingdom and completed his second LL.B.(Hons) in 2008 from the University of Huddersfield and completed his Bar Vocation Course ("BVC") in 2009 from the City Law School of the City University London and was called as Barrister in 2009 from the Hon'ble Society of Gray's Inn. Mr. Khan returned to Bangladesh in 2009 and resumed his legal profession and his childhood interest in agriculture remained unfulfilled. In 2013 Mr. Khan again went to the United Kingdom for conversion of his BVC into LL.M. and in 2014 he successfully completed his second LL.M. from the City University London. During his stay in 2013-2014 Mr. Khan with his friends visited couple of fruit farms in the United Kingdom and his unfulfilled childhood interest in agriculture was revived. In 2014 Mr. Khan returned to Bangladesh and resumed his legal profession, but in the back of his mind he was thinking of agriculture. In 2015 Mr. Khan shared his wishes with his wife about developing a farm and they came to a conclusion that they would develop a farm. Mr. Khan's wife, who was the Head of Human Resources & Administration Department of a reputed organisation, rendered all-out support to Mr. Khan in developing the farm. At present the Farm is a baby, but within a very short period of time the Farm will become a complete man.
